Government Printing Office - Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea

The new Government Printing Office is now housed in one of the most modern buildings in Papua New Guinea. We have embarked on a modest recapitalistation program and in so doing, we have and continue to embrace the latest technology available to us.
Our new equipment includes computer to plate technology that eliminates the need of hard copy, cameras, film and plate-making equipment. We have three high -speed, which are complemented by two colour copies and this combination has cut the productions times of lenghty reports by ten-fold. Our press and bindery
equipment is the best avilable and was manufactured in Germany and Italy.
We also have the latest technology for small quantity, hard cover book-binding. We have established a Publications Sales Division where the National Gazette is

made available to the public. It is our intention to extend these services to the Provincial LLG to include the reinstatement of printed
legislation and the Publication of Provincial and LLG gazettes.
Our dedicated staff are embracing the many training sessions with enthusiasm and many are now trained in the operation of leading edge technology as well as other general training for continued up-skilling. GPO also recognises that training is critical to the progress of GPO, hence, capacity building programs are
in place for staff members to undergo relevant to their job demands.
